- The following deductions that are mandatory will be made from each paycheck: All applicable Federal and State taxes that are required to be deducted from U.S. workers and/or foreign workers. Federal Income Tax Withholding will only be deducted from H-2A employee's paycheck with the consent of both the employee and the employer. In the case that an H-2A employee does not provide a Social Security Number or an IRS issued Individual Taxpayer Identification Number AND the total annual wages for the employee are over $600, the employer must deduct backup withholding of 24% from each paycheck. Descripción del trabajo
Duties may include: Fertilizing and spraying the orchards 3 times within the season with an orchard spray rig. Flood irrigation every 14-20 days depending on weather; specific to pecan orchard. Maintain the integrity of cement ditches as well as the irrigation wells. Ground Prep for pecan orchard will involve floating the pecan orchards, and sweeping leaves into rows using sweeper machines. Worker will assist in trimming limbs and be responsible for picking up any debris such as trash and tree limbs. Worker will use tractor and shredding implement to shred leaves. Worker will then need to use the pecan tree shaker to shake the pecan trees; worker will be expected to handle tress with great care, as too much shaking can cause trees to break. Worker will then need to sweep pecans back into a row where the pecans will be picked up by machine. Pecans are then loaded into a jack rabbit truck that connects to machinery for transportation. Worker will need to assist in removing any debris as well as picking up loose pecans while they are in holding bin and being moved via conveyor belt. Worker will be responsible for maintaining and cleaning work areas, pecan orchard clean up, weed prevention, and pecan orchard repairs such as fixing cement cracks, and repairing orchards gates if need be & other related Pecan Orchard Worker activities as per SOC/OES 45-2092 (onetonline.org). Possible weekend/holiday work. The employer may choose to pay experienced workers, regardless of origin, more than the published minimum wage rate. See attached Addendum C.
