Descripción del trabajo
Since opening its doors in 2022, Located on Lake Tahoes West Shore, Homewood is an operating ski resort on the largest private land holding in the Tahoe basin, allowing for the development of a four-season mountain / lakefront resort community. Homewood embodies the perfect pace of life; members can spend your days meeting with a trainer while kids can learn to paddleboard with the Outdoor Pursuits team on the lake or experience culinary bliss dining lakeside on the pier. With four seasons of incredible activity offerings, the breathtaking mountain backdrop, and lake views, Homewood embraces a family-forward lifestyle of relaxed elegance, wellness, and activity. Homewood Mountain & Lake Club offers legacy memberships, as well as local resident memberships with access to skiing and riding to provide a sustainable revenue model for the ski area. Homewood offers an unparalleled blend of luxury, natural beauty, and an extraordinary lifestyle. We employ approx. 86 people during our Winter season and have projected gross annual revenue of $5.6 Million/yr. SCHEDULE OF OPERATIONS The business history of our company during these years, has demonstrated that the companys seasonal period is not only based on the weather conditions that will not allow us to work but the schedule on the weather conditions that attract our members and visitors. Our Winter schedule of operations begins to increase in December and the reaches high volume during Winters and ends during early Spring. Our club members usually visit through Winter during Ski Season. Our Ski installations rely heavily on seasonal workers because their operations are tied to a short, intense winter tourism period when snow conditions and weather make skiing possible. This creates a unique employment pattern that requires large, flexible workforces only during the ski season. The preparation for our Winter season usually begins in early December and continue with an ongoing basis throughout the end of April of each year. Our ski resort sees a massive influx of visitors for a few months each year. This surge drives demand for staff in lift operations, ski patrol, snowmaking, grooming, hospitality, food service, retail, and guest services. These roles are only needed when the mountain is open and guests are present. Currently we do not have a full staff to handle the upsurge in the upcoming Ski season. Our company makes the effort to hire temporary U.S. Housekeepers from our area, but we have not had any success with hiring and retaining the workforce. In order to complete these orders, we need the services of 4 Housekeepers. We have determined the number of temporary workers based on our prior years experience through this landscaping season, and we have determined that we need 4 temporary workers to help us throughout our Resort Hospitality Service. TEMPORARY NEED CLASSIFICATION Regulatory standards for Seasonal need A petitioner claiming a seasonal need must show that the service or labor for which it seeks workers is: *Traditionally tied to a season of the year by an event or pattern; and *Of a recurring nature. The job opportunity is Seasonal under the H-2B classification due to the following facts: Our need for these workers is temporary in nature, in that it has a foreseeable end, for the following reasons: -Our busiest season is tied to the Winter months, from December to April of each year, -Ski resorts need seasonal workers because their core operations are tied to a short winter season, require large, specialized workforces, and operate in high-cost, housing-limited mountain towns where year-round employment is impractical.
