Work description
Workers will be responsible for the care of livestock, including handling cattle and assisting during calving season. Daily duties include checking pens for water supply, cleanliness, and overall health conditions of the animals, feeding and monitoring animal health, maintaining and repairing existing fences. Workers will also operate livestock technology systems to manage feeding programs and accurately record data when working cattle. In crop and forage operations, workers will operate large tractors and farm equipment during planting, spraying, haying, and harvest. This includes operating and monitoring GPS and other precision agriculture technology systems in tractors and towed implements. Seasonal duties include cutting, raking, and baling forage in the spring for winter feed and bedding, and hauling cattle and bales back to the farmstead in the fall. - Minimum three months’ verifiable experience operating large tractors with GPS and other precision technology, including towed implements. - Proven experience in cattle handling, calving, feeding feeder cattle, and fencing. - Ability to operate and maintain agricultural technology systems. - Valid driver's license or ability to obtain one within 60 days. - No minimum education required. - Cell phone use is limited to business-related calls only, no texting during working hours. - Smoking, drug use, and alcohol consumption during working hours are strictly prohibited.
