Dean Pederson Racing Stable, LLC is engaged in the business of training racehorses that complete in California. The company has been involved in this trade since 1999. In the peak load season, more grooms are needed to help support the horse training operations. We are requesting two Thoroughbred Racehorse Grooms in conjunction with the peak load work increase that starts in October and goes on to the end of June. This is the race meet for the premier racetrack in California, Santa Anita Race Park. More Horses are on the racetrack during the Santa Anita meet than at any other time. These extra grooms provide care for the horses during the racing season. An experienced groom can care for four houses. Horses are not a typical company product that can be shelved on placed on hold if workers are not available. As living animals, horses must be care for, including feeding, bathing, brushing, medication, and other care. Individuals with no experience around Thoroughbred racehorses are uncomfortable working closely and in tight areas with enormously powerful racehorses. Additional, because the employer we offer is temporary and not permanent, we are unable to attract the necessary willing and available American workers. Out need for additional Thoroughbred Racehorse grooms is extremely impacted at this time of the year and cannot be met by the available American job market. We have a permanent workforce of five to six grooms and one assistant trainer. The season is defined by the racing schedule and constitutes our main revenue producing cycle and without proper staffing, we cannot ear the required revenue for the season.
