Work description

I manage a 200 head cow herd. In December, fence needs put up around corn fields to run the cows on for the winter months. The weaned calves off of the cows are retained until early February, so they need fed and cared for through the winter months. Pens need kept in good condition as weather permits. The cows will be brought home in February for calving. They will need fed and cared for during calving season (Mid February to April). Pasture fences will need repaired in the spring to be ready for pairs to be turned out in May. The equipment is late model John Deere tractors and loaders, Haybuster hay grinder, and a Harsh feed wagon. Job duties may include and are not limited to tasks such as: clean work areas, repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment, repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures, tend to livestock by feeding, medicating, general care, grading, sorting, working, placing identification on, or relocating, use hand tools such as wrenches, crow bars, air tools, electric tools, weigh containers and record weights and identifying information. Equipment such as but not limited to the following will be used/operated by the workers in conjunction with the duties being performed: augers, pickups, cars, etc, tractors. The workers will be performing the duties to help produce: cattle. Must speak and understand English.
