- RATE OF PAY $9.14 per hour starting wage, or the highest applicable wage rate required under the H-2A program or applicable federal or state law, whichever is higher. Work description
Seasonal/temporary farmworkers needed for work on crawfish farm in Acadia Parish 11/01/2026 to 08/28/2027. Job duties include general farm work, farm field/shed sanitation duties include: mowing grass, digging ditches, levees, fences, etc. Minor maintenance/operation of farm equipment, harvest crawfish, bait, re-bait, cut-up bait, repair traps, plant rice, etc. When time allows, process, grade, deliver to storage or market, etc. Must peel a minimum of 5 lbs. of tail meat per hour. Must be able to perform physical activities that involve considerable use of arms and legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, stooping, reaching, walking, sitting, bending, kneeling, lifting up to 50 lbs., and for extended periods. Work is conducted outside in all kinds of weather, including rain and extreme heat, and cold. Once hired may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the worker. Testing positive or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment. Time may vary due to mechanical, crop availability of crop and weather conditions.
