If workers voluntarily and explicitly authorize the employer in writing, the employer may deduct income taxes from H-2A worker wages. When explicitly authorized by the worker in writing, the cost of elected healthcare benefits; reimbursement of approved cash advances; retirement plan contributions; cell phone, cable/satellite TV, internet or other service(s) for workers’ benefit and convenience may be deducted from workers’ pay. Employer may charge reasonable costs for lost, replacement, or damaged tools, equipment, or property or fines for acts committed by the worker on the road while driving an employer provided vehicle, and he or she is at fault. Work description
Job requires previous work experience with cattle and/or livestock, grazing and herding. Employees will be feeding, handling, and tending to livestock health measures and administering medicine if necessary; building and repairing property boarders; performing repairs around the shop and on equipment; grain, feed, and hay handling; moving cows; inspect, maintain, and repair equipment, buildings, pens, and yards; cleaning fence rows; and other various manual labor. Duties include operating various farm equipment necessary to livestock including, but not limited to, ATVs, chainsaws, grain and feed handling equipment, and livestock trailers. Job also requires operating non-CDL farm trucks and grain trailers to transport grain commodities from on-farm storage facilities and grain bins to elevators, markets, and designated delivery locations. Workers will load, secure, transport, and unload grain commodities; inspect trucks and trailers before and after use; maintain accurate load and delivery records; and perform routine servicing and cleaning of trucks, trailers, and related hauling equipment. Workers will assist with monitoring grain condition during transport and maintaining orderly traffic flow around loading and unloading areas. Job also requires fueling trucks, checking tire pressure and fluid levels, cleaning truck interiors and exteriors, and reporting mechanical issues to management. Workers may use maps, GPS, or dispatch instructions to follow designated routes between storage sites and delivery locations. Workers must follow all roadway safety requirements and employer safety protocols while operating non-CDL farm vehicles. Daily duties may vary depending on crop, weather, road, and delivery conditions. There are few typical days and workers may be required to change duties and/or locations often and engage in various general hauling functions. The employer reserves the right to increase workers’ pay or provide bonuses based on tenure, performance, or other factors that are solely based on the discretion of the employer.
