- DEDUCTIONS. Employer makes all deductions required by law (e.g., FICA, federal/state tax withholdings, court-ordered child support, etc.). Workers must pre-authorize voluntary deductions, which may include repayment of wage advances and/or loans, health insurance premiums, retirement plan contributions, and/or third-party payments or wage assignments for products or services furnished for the worker’s benefit or convenience. All deductions comply with the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and applicable state law. Employer may deduct reasonable repair costs if the worker is found to be responsible for damage to housing beyond normal wear and tear. Employer may charge worker for reasonable cost of damages to property and/or replacement of tools and/or equipment if such damage is found to have been the result of worker's willful misconduct or gross negligence.

Work description
Crops/Commodities: hay, corn, soybeans, sorghum, small grain, cattle, switchgrass, vetch. Primary duties (performed the majority of workdays): Mechanics will adjust equipment to ensure optimal performance; reassemble equipment after repair; test mechanical equipment to ensure proper functioning; confer with users to assess problems; inspect mechanical equipment to locate damage, defects, or wear; read work orders or descriptions of problems to determine repairs or modifications needed; repair defective engines or engine components; service vehicles to maintain functionality; disassemble equipment for maintenance or repair; maintain repair or maintenance records; clean equipment, parts, or tools to repair or maintain them in good working order; lubricate equipment to allow proper functioning; repair worn, damaged, or defective mechanical parts; replace worn, damaged, or defective mechanical parts; install machine or equipment replacement parts; test electrical circuits or components for proper functioning; adjust vehicle components according to specifications; calculate costs of goods or services; move large objects using heavy equipment; fabricate parts or components; install piping for installation or maintenance activities; repair pipes to stop leaking; repair structural components. Job duties will include winter maintenance and repair of all farm equipment (including, but not limited to, two combines, two planters, sprayer and fertilizer spreader) for wear points and mechanical issues, as well as updating of the computer systems in said equipment; replace parts and/or rebuild planters and grain drills, which involves stripping all of the worn parts off of the machinery and replacing them; servicing all tractors with oil changes, and making sure oil in the hydraulic systems are changed and any mechanical issues are addressed and repaired; replace oil and air filters on tractors; service and repair of multiple farm trucks/vehicles; inspection of combines for mechanical problems and repair. Supervisor(s) will provide instructions and directions to workers. Workers must be able to comprehend and follow instructions and communicate effectively to supervisors. Unusual, complex or non-routine activities will be supervised. Workers expected to perform basic duties in a timely and proficient manner without close supervision. Work is done for long periods of time. Must be able to lift/carry 50 lbs. Workers should be able to do the work required with or without reasonable accommodations. Must report for work daily wearing work clothing and boots or other durable foot wear. Must wear proper protective footwear that is closed-toe in nature with a non-slip sole, such as work boots or trail-type shoes. Post-hire employer-paid drug testing is required after a worker has an accident. Persons seeking employment in this position must be available for the entire period requested by the employer. Applicants must be able to furnish verbal or written statement establishing relevant prior work experience. Job opportunity is Skill Level I. All primary duties are entry-level and require close supervision and/or a short demonstration of the task by a more experienced worker. Employer may request, but not require, workers to work more than the stated daily hours and/or on a worker's Sabbath or federal holidays. Worker must report to work at designated time and place each day. Daily or weekly work schedule may vary due to weather, sunlight, temperature, crop conditions, and other factors. Employer will notify workers of any change to start time. Workers will have an unpaid lunch break. TERMINATION. Prior to any termination for cause, employer evaluates workers' performance of required tasks and compliance with Work Rules and other employer policies.
