Pay deductions:
The employer will make the following deductions: FICA taxes, income tax, cash advances, overpayment of wages; and charges for any loss to the employer due to the worker’s damage or loss of equipment or housing items where it is shown that the worker is responsible, any other deductions expressly authorized by the worker. No state income tax will be deducted. Employees will be offered to elect. Medical, Dental, Vision and 401K benefits and can get a deduction if they voluntarily elect them. Employee will be covered with basic life insurance.

Work description

All Activities: Workers will perform all job specifications as instructed by the Farm Manager or Crew Supervisor. Employees should adhere to all personal and equipment safety requirements. Duties may vary from time to time and may include all of the following job specifications: Shuttle Driver: May transport other workers in a 14-passenger van, from the field to the work site and back, requiring a regular license. May transport workers on a weekly basis to get groceries. Worker needs to be able to obtain or possess a Florida non-commercial driver's license or equivalent. Agricultural Equipment Operator: May operate a farm vehicle such as a pickup truck to a flatbed to move the harvest trailer inside of the farm as necessary during the workday. May be assigned to load agricultural products into a farm truck and drive it to the storage facility that is between 1.5 miles to a maximum of 16 miles from the farm. Occasionally may have to move portable restrooms by hauling around the farm for a closer distance for the workers during working day. Farm Equipment Operation: May be necessary to assist in the use or operation of farm equipment such as tractors, trucks and harvest machinery. Tractor driving: May be assigned to drive tractors. Irrigation Pumps: May be assigned to turn on water pumps for irrigation as instructed by their manager. Ensure that the irrigation systems are running properly. Inject fertilizer and chemicals as instructed by the manager. Mow Lawn: Workers may be assigned to mow lawn with a motorized lawn mower as a zero-turn riding mower. Forklift Driving: May be assigned to drive a forklift to load agricultural products on a truck. Tractor Spraying: May be assigned to load spray tank, mix chemicals and spray the crop according to the supervisor's instructions and label requirements of the given pesticides. Workers who drive farm vehicles requiring a driver’s license will receive reimbursement by receipt of proof of payment. May assist with basic equipment maintenance such as greasing parts, cleaning vehicle, checking tire pressure, checking oil and, notifying the supervisor when machinery malfunctions. Overhead Task: Field Walker: Workers may assist their supervisor in monitoring that harvesters don’t leave fruit behind, and that overripe fruit is being removed from the plant. May be assigned to communicate to other workers the plan for the day as defined by the supervisor. Maintains work area clean and free of objects that may cause accidents. May be assigned to clean up trash, excess materials, and prepare the harvest trailer for the next day, and to ensure clean and fresh water is always available. Ensures that other workers have the required tools to perform their job. Checking Quality: Ensure that the product delivered by the harvesters meets company standards in quality and appearance.
